Owens Cardiology is a speciality cardiology practice based in Waterford, Ireland. We provide a wide range of diagnostic tests at The Heart Clinic in the Williamstown Centre (beside WLRfm). We also provide a range of consultant cardiology and screening services. The practice is owned and managed by Dr Owens, a Consultant Cardiologist based at University Hospital Waterford and UPMC Whitfield.
Dr Patrick Owens, BSc (Hons), MD, FRCP, qualified from University College Dublin in 1991 and trained in general and interventional cardiology in Ireland and the UK.
He trained at the Mater and Beaumont Hospitals in Dublin, Manchester Royal Infirmary and Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, before practising as a consultant in Cornwall and the South West of England.
Patrick returned to Waterford in 2009 and has played an important role in developing cardiology services within the South East, including the introduction of advanced interventional and cardiac device techniques.

Through The Heart Clinic, Patrick provides direct specialist assessment while maintaining established working relationships with cardiac imaging specialists, interventional services and senior cardiac surgeons.
This allows patients to access the additional investigations or specialist treatment they require while maintaining continuity of consultant care.
2026 marks 10 years of The Heart Clinic in Waterford.
Over that time, we have worked closely with GPs throughout Waterford and the South East to provide their patients with rapid access to specialist cardiology assessment, cardiac investigation and ongoing care.
